“Some people die for no reason but most live for even less.”

The Language of Thieves & Vagabonds is a collection of writing and poetry taken from notebooks kept from sometime between 1993 and 1998.  

Part One consists of the entire contents of small notebooks I kept during those years, whilst Part Two features poetry that may spill out from both sides of the confines of those years. 

Much of The Language Of Thieves & Vagabonds is delivered as ’stream of consciousness' - apparently a notable literary device, not that I knew it at the time. A reasonable definition of it runs like this: 

"In literary criticism, stream of consciousness is a narrative mode, or device, that seeks "to depict the multitudinous thoughts and feelings which pass through the mind. Another term for it is 'interior monologue'." The term was coined by William James in 1890 in his The Principles of Psychology."

But like a man (Bukowski perhaps) once said - poetry is no good if it's only read by literary critics. When it's also read by the men who fix your cars and take away your trash, then you're winning the war.

I'd like to think Language contributes to that.
