Johnny Beatnik | Beer Festival Date!
An outlaw Johnny Beatnik show at the South Kent Beer Festival. It’s only a short set but it will be long enough! More details to follow (when I know them).

I’ve never been to Canada but damn, I’m excited as hell to be planning this one. Toronto is top of the wish list these days - I don’t think it will disappoint.
UPDATE: Cancelled - we all know why.
I’ve never been to Lyon before - and when I started to ask around about it, it appears that many prefer it to Paris. I guess we’ll soon find out.
I’ll judging again this year at the Florence Tattoo Show. It’s my favourite show in the whole world… come along and find out why. We have such sights to show you.
I don’t think I’m judging at the show this year, but I’m going anyway, because I might be. Always lots to see and do regardless.
Judging again at the Krakow Convention this year. Poland is always a pleasure… come say hello, be good to see you if you can make it.
A quick road trip, but a road trip all the same. I figured it was time I got myself to somewhere I had never heard of before and Lublin looks like a good start. It looks glorious and a good place to start my second volume of travel writing... a follow up to Cities of the Dead.
A man should be able to find adventure of some kind here that's for sure.
A return to Florence - and with it being Florence - a man needs no other reason than that.
However... I will be at the Florence Tattoo Convention (getting tattooed and judging at the show) and there's also plenty of time to hit some of the places I never hit before. If you're in town and free for coffee... drop me a line.
Another venture into the wilds of the USA in search of stories for Cities Of The Dead project... may bolt on a couple of other things here along the way.
Four days is never enough in New York but it's better than no days in New York that's for sure. If anybody wants to hook up - for any reason at all, I'll be out at the Empire State Tattoo Expo, but I'll also be heading out to The Strand on Broadway (I need to get a little closer to July to hand over more information on this) and I'll also be checking in with Thought Gallery.
It's New York - nobody needs a reason to visit New York but in this case, Midtown is my destination for this trip. I'm currently looking for an indie bookstore to do an event with while I'm there. I'll blog when something is more concrete but there are some irons in the fire that are starting to glow...
Tonight, I'll be hosting an evening at Waterstones in Westwood Cross, Ramsgate (UK) aimed at helping writers help themselves by spilling my knowledge of going it alone all across the floor. Topics on the table will include looking at all of your options, managing your expectations (your own and those of others), considering paperback and/or digital and looking at some tools of the trade that could help you. I'll also be talking about writing for magazines and more importantly - at least from where I'm standing - what you (the writer) are terming as 'successful' and whether that's the very thing holding you back.
There will be books on sale (mine as well as whatever the store have on the shelves) and there will also be coffee, which is the way I always pictured such an event so all is well.
Note: Caffè Nero will be open later than usual for us to take over their fine facilities.
