EXTRAS
If you found this page, hopefully I gave you the address but if you’re a hacker who has gotten lost, maybe you’ll find something you enjoy anyway.
To recap: all of my work is self published through my own imprint - Bad Hare Books - and has either been sold or given away to friends or acquaintances through this site for just about enough money to make the site pay for itself and get some feedback as to whether I was headed in the right direction. There’s no point writing if nobody likes reading it, right?
Much of my work leans on pop-culture as a reference point but if you thought it had mileage to say “I found this guy that writes like Nick Hornby meets Murakami”, I could live with that for a very long time.
I should say something about my goals so as we know we’re on the same page. I don’t want to publish myself any more that’s for sure - it’s isolating and hard work but it has been useful - so I’m looking for a publisher to work with in the long term on my projects. If you pressed me, I’d like to brand myself ‘The King of the 40k Novella’ but that might be a dumb thing to say if I happened to write something longer. This is why people need professionals in their corner!
All of the shorter material found in The Day The Sky Fell Down, Scenes From The Coffee House and Cities of the Dead is fair game for submission to literary magazines to help build a name/brand - and there’s a lot of it - but I guess we can talk about a good approach for that if you think we can work together. The Family Of Noise is a novel and Black Dye White Noise is a collection of interviews from back in the day when I was running a music magazine… possibly out-dated now but here for completist reasons.
At the end, we have the first three draft chapters of a new novel called Misty Mountain Hop - which is about a music journalist who runs away to Colorado with a girl called Stevie Nicks whilst being pursued by the mysterious John Silver who is intent on asking our hero the same question over and over no matter where he goes…
What else can I tell you that’s useful? All cover designs are my own. I enjoy it and it’s something I’d like to keep up should anything constructive come of this. I love book design, inside and out.
I’ll stop talking now. These download links will open the file in a separate tab which can either be read in your browser or saved:
